Songs from Childhood
In celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Opera InReach artists are sharing an afternoon of childhood songs and poetry from Japan, The Philippines, and Hong Kong.
The concert will feature works by composers Kosaku Yamada and Yoshinao Nakada, with words by poets Rofu Miki and Shuichi Kato, as well as traditional Bicolano and Tagalog folks songs arranged by Lucrecia R. Kasilag. The performers will include mezzo-soprano Renee Fajardo, baritone Luka Kawabata, and pianist Perri Lo.
